Welcome to the Jungle

So here's what's going on at my house. We have the dogs eating the cat's food, then brazenly standing by their own empty dishes and barking. Don't hold your breath, my little pups.

Then we have the cat that is just kind of roaming and meowing incessantly because he's hungry. No kidding, Clifford... You should have eaten when you had the chance.

Which leads me to upstairs, where Eggroll, the lizard (Chinese Water Dragon to all you reptiphiles) has just returned to his cage, from where he had ESCAPED, and was perched precariously on the window sill of my son's room. At that point, Clifford was on high alert, ready to pounce. Fortunately, crisis averted, although it probably would have shut the cat up for a while.

And if any of you were under the misguided impression that your kids would grow out of their cartoon/trading card/anime obsessions, don't count on it. I am making Pokémon mac-n-cheese for Moody Teen (yes, he's almost 16 and will be authorized to drive a vehicle on Saturday), while he is re-watching the Pokémon marathon on TV that he watched yesterday. I am not sure how it happened, but Mew, Pikachu and Quilava (evolved form of Cyndaquil, duh) are back and even more popular than before.

Sweet Mr. Beans has disappeared to the bathroom for the second time in 30 minutes. I am thinking either food poisoning or stomach flu. Lovely.

And me? Well, I am fit to be tied. Is that the expression? Don't worry, you'll get all the sordid details later. Or, you may just see me on the nightly news. I'll be the one having to be restrained from attacking a mom of multiples and a jolly British bloke.

Meanwhile, I am thumbing my nose at Tena and her weight loss gang, and am on my 6th or 7th cookie. Surely my self-esteem can handle another 5 lbs.

The Pokemon craze is ageless, trust me. Jump in, Deb!

don't go thumbing your nose up at me- I'm the queen of the bad attitude and emotional eating this week- and my self esteem CANNOT handle an extra 6 or 7 cookies- it doesn't mean I'm not overloading on carbs and trying! Can you say "falling off the wagon?"

First of all, I LOVE your new header! It looks fabulous!!!

Man, man, man - it sounds like you deserve a few more cookies. I know if I was you I'd definitely be stuffing them down. Worry about the consequences later. Right now you need cookies.

Sounds like one busy day!
I don't get the pokemon thing but I have three younger brothers who thought it was great and will probably jump back on the bandwagon (even though the eldest is now 23).

I've got to find a picture of me the year I was a Pok-e-Mom for Halloween!

My 16 yr old just rented bananas in pajamas for a party this weekend.

Thankfully I can honestly say, to my knowledge, we have no reptiles.

Loved Mr Beans Valentine, by the way!

My baby will be 14 this April and she still loves Barbie and Scooby Doo. I still love Scooby Doo as well, so who am I to judge? :)

Sounds like a craptastic kind of day, to me! Go to bed early and pray it will be all back to normal tomorrow! However, it's doubtful...

BTW, nice change to the header...looks great!

Love the new look. And I can still annoy my son by pronouncing it Pokey-man. It drives him crazy.

Don't you love those days! I have been on Lock Down with 200 students today because of Tornado Warnings which never develop into anything but a bunch of sissy winds!
Yes, I was praying for the tornado; I was going to throw myself in it's path and hope it would drop me off in Lovely Land!
BTW, love the new look!

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!
This is an intervention! Put the cookies down and walk away from the plate slowly. I know what I'm doing, I had this same intervention with EM yesterday and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Trust me.

I'm going with you and Jill and the cookies and whiskey...this is my hubby's first day of no smoking, need I say more?

Young Momma said...

So... yeah... where to start? How about a simple: you deserve those cookies!!!!

Ahhh, feels like I am at home...

Hope your days get better, cookies get yummier and Pokemon cease to exist.

My cats are on my last pms nerve. If I clean up cat puke one more time I might just send them all to the garage. It's 14 fricken degrees this morning and windy. I SO don't want to go to Emily's school. I love it once I'm there, but this stupid whether is killing me. But this wasn't about me was it? I'm so far off my wagon that it's not funny. Brownies last night...german chocolate brownies. Sigh. So, eat those cookies. It's okay. Next week we'll all start over!

Oh yeah, the new header is very cool!

Nooooo! Not Pokemon revisited!! Don't tell my tween this news! I just finally removed the last traces of Pikachu from my house!!!

Hang in there!

My 16 yo son can name the 150 original Pokemon...I'm guessing I should put that on his college apps? ;-)

They don't really outgrow those things, do they? I have the same thing in my house.

I'd go crazy with the animals alone.

Want another one? ;-)

Cool new banner! And I look forward to elaboration on the mom of multiples and the Brit.

Sounds like a crazy little house you live in ... but fun! Very blog-worthy! And I'm shocked about the Pokemon thing. I barely even know what they are ... they are yellow. That is my knowledge. I guess I'll find out soon enough, I suspect. And you let your kids have a LIZARD! Yikes! You are a better mom than me!

My butt seems to handle another 5 lbs just great...so bring it I say!!

Hope they get feeling better...and that you have a great weekend! Hugs to you!!

I like little lizards, but the big ones are kind of creepy. The people who owned our house before us had two huge, and I mean HUGE iguanas (think three feet long). You could hear them breathe. I was afraid that they would bite my arm off if given the chance.

I think it's cool that your sons still like the cartoons. Who needs to grow up so fast, anyway?
