Sorry about the bad gifts!

Will you use it again?

I'm in hysterics here, and the cats think I'm insane laughing at the computer. I will never complain about a gift again after hearing your story. Nope. The potato bag that lights on fire has to top all bad gift stories.

I feel your pain on the Spanish Class. For us this week it's been Global Studies, or social studies as it had been previously called. We are hoping for a good final exam at this point. I'm not a happy mom camper. Grrrrr...

At least it is contained in the microwave— unlike my Kitchen-Sink-Gate where the insulation between the walls caught on fire.

Kind of reminds me of when my dad decided to heat up some car wax right on the stove and nearly caught the kitchen on fire.

Now go drive around and get that smell of burning potato sack out of your nose.

The title of your post really could have led to so many other things... ;)

Glad no one was hurt in the making of lunch today.

That may outdo some of the gifts my MIL has given me, including the cleaner for French White Corningware and some Christmas tree decorations that came in a box with a clearance tag of $1.99. They were fugly and went straight to the trash.

As an Idaho girl, I feel the need to perform an intervention. I'll be right over.

Plain baked potato and bowl of ice cream...I wont say a word cause I had a hot fudge sundae last night. Like after 8:00 pm last night. Not even any time left to work it off at that point. And no! I wasn't gonna have sex on an ICE CREAM full tummy.

And you go right ahead and drive around, act like it makes a difference if you have a license or not. We know better. :p

If youre done with the bag, can I have it? We've been in search of a new comforter and I'm willing to bet that bag beats the shit out of some of the crap my wife keeps ordering online. Charred remains and all.

It boggles the mind.

No baked potato bag...yet. But they are coming in town this weekend. We shall see.

I LOVE that you still ate the potato - hilarious, woman!!!

(p.s. give me a couple of minutes - I'll have something on my blog for you. Oh, come on, it's a good one. Especially in light of the whole Spanish thing. Sorry.)

Let me get this straight: a fire breaks out in your kitchen and instead of trying to put it out, you start photographing it for your blog???

That's dedication right there.

ROTFL! My son walked by the computer and stopped to watch...the minute you started describing the "bank rain gauge", he pipes up and says, "does she mean like the gifts Grandma Anne gives us?" LOL!! My mother-in-law is notorius for this!

Then you got to the part about eating a plain potato and he asks, "Is she crying?" LOL!!!!

You are a class A riot! I'm glad you're all safe!

(ps..my m-i-l gave me a black lacquer tray covered in yellowed tissue paper as a wedding gift...when I unwrapped it, it was covered in cricket carcasses!)

How scary! Are you gonna tell you mother about the "potato bag incident?" Perhaps her instructions should come with a warning about the potentail FIRE hazard? ; )
