Blogversations: Knitwit

Has it really already been a week since my last mindless drivel? I may eventually cave under the pressure of having a weekly topic (which, to me, is the close cousin of homework), but so far, so good... sort of. I'm kind of thinking I may have hit a new low.

So let's get on with it, shall we? And remember, you have Summer to thank.

Now head on over to Le Musings of Moi to check out the real talent.

I sit in humility. You are one talented mama.

Talented and consistent!

I think we have the same talent - NOT finishing projects!

However, your knitting skills look pretty impressive to me. I really like that basket weave knit.

You are a talented lady! I sort of wish I had some knitting skills.

I learned to knit a couple of winters ago... I had very similar concerns- many started and, for one reason or another, I moved on. I got REALLY far on a 'scarf', but it kept getting wider- and I had no idea what I was doing wrong so I decided to act like its width was totally intentional and started calling it a shawl? But then I didn't know how to end it-and just kind of ignored it-thanks for the reminder- I haven't taken it out of my knitting bag in 2 years.

Great job! :) LOL I think a handful of people have tried to teach me how to knit in my life (or at least told me how very important it is to know) and I haven't bothered at all. Have no idea how to do it. I don't even know how to sew! lol So - I give you credit for even taking the time to learn! I like the pink and brown one if it didn't curl.

Okay new brainstorm. You should be on TV. I really think so. I'm not sure what the topic will be yet but I'm gonna think about it. Definitely not a knitting show but only because of, you know, the never finishing aspect of your work. :-)

But there's something there....you are very natural in front of the camera....hmmmmm....more later...

You are so funny. I never took you for a quitter of projects. You do have a nice camera presence. I hope you're well.

I love it. "Not to give away the ending...but they're all scarves." Funniest thing I've heard all day.

I was taught how to knit when I was on bed rest in the hospital while pregnant. I made cute little hats for the babies. But since then, totally forgot how.
I am so impressed that you taught yourself how to do that. I had to be tutored.

You crack me up!!! Oh I feel better about my pile of unfinished projects now.

I am completely impressed with the fact that you taught yourself to knit! I've been wanting to do that and just find myself completely overwhelmed! I can crochet, but I really want to knit! I bow to you, oh Knitwit Queen!

Although you didn't finish them, they were all really good!! Had you finished them, they would have been great gifts :o)

You are good! I tried to knit when Dennis and I first got married. What a joke. You should have seen my first scarf. I don't even know how it stayed together, but it was totally uneven - looked like a 2 year old did it. I did complete a scarf and sent it to my grandma. And then any other project I started that was knitting related was quickly abandoned. But, I did have a "knitting face" that I was not aware of until Dennis pointed it out to me. Rather embarrassing. I hear crocheting is easier. I might give that a try...

So anyway - yeah. Totally snagging your new button and putting it up on my blog - I LOVE it!

I'm going to send you and Summer an email about my attempt at Blogversations...

The yarn industry thanks you.

And I'm with Lee and Tony - you're a natural.

P.S. what program did you use to create your new button and HTML script box? That demanding editor in chief over at MWOB is making a run for Prada ;-)

I don't knit, but my wife is involved in a knitting circle at church and is learning how to knit as well. One thing I overheard is that if you alternate your stitches per row (knit, pearl, knit, pearl) then it does not curl. Don't give up the knitting just because it is warmer, you can then finish that project with time to spare before Christmas.

I am the proud owner of one of your FINISHED knitting projects!!!

I feel special. :-)

Oh, there is a way to finish knitting?

I never learned that part. I could knit a scarf like the one Ralphie's little brother had (from the Christmas Story- it wrapped around him 47 times) but the needles would have to go with it.

Oh, how I needed that laugh.

You are a funny gal! I remember watching my grandmother made afgans. I would love to learn how to knit! Cute scarves...or half of scarves. Just sew them all together and make a tiny blanket.
