Naughty Again This Year

I have known that they think all of the following for a while now, but it was all reaffirmed for me in many spoken and unspoken ways this past weekend...

I spend too much money.
I spoil my kids.
I am enable my in-laws.
I eat out too much.
I don't call enough.
I watch too much TV.
I am materialistic.
I am wasteful.
I am difficult.
And my personal favorite...
I appear bloated.

One thing is for certain... The message is strong, clear and consistent.

I get it.

But what I don't get is why anyone wants to be around someone as awful as I, any more than I want to be around anyone that feels this way about me.

PS: Can someone please check my grammar on that last sentence?

Are you sure these things mean naughty? I am in some serious trouble...

That was my weekend list too...every weekend pretty much.

Let's hang out sometime. We'd be a barrel of laughs.

Hhhmmm...I don't see anything wrong with that list. :)

Because, that's what family is for, silly.

You only mangle the self esteem of the ones you love so much that they question their every move.

Something along those lines.

P.S. My sinuses hurt too much to check your grammar. And if I don't care, you're in the clear :-)

Hey! Did my mom come visit you?? WTH? I don't get it.

Have they met my mom? Because they should. They'd get along great.

And while I don't know you personally....I'd say you are NONE of those things!!!

Spending time with family sucks sometimes. Sorry your weekend had to be like that. Tell them that you dont need them....because you have US and we love you!

If appearing bloated means naughty then I am a very bad girl...

I think all of those things make you a wonderful, caring and very loving woman...so there!

You know, when I'm being naughty I project all my ugly on others. Then I can trash myself , sometimes in sneaky passive aggressive ways, but not realize it.
I finally realized after 46 years that perhaps this is what some of my unmentioned family members do.
Of course , theirs amounts to crazy , wish you lived on the other side of the planet levels. Or I just kind of pretend you don't exist. Which leaves me feeling guilty on top of everything else , of course.

Deep breaths .

Not sure what "I am enable my in-laws" means, but we all tend to fall into these traps.

I tend to think that family members don't give the levity to other family members as they do to other people.

I certainly wouldn't put you on the Naughty list for those things.

Hoping that Santa put you on the Nice list and gets you that gift you always wanted.

I'm right there with you on the naughty list based on what you had down!

You are too funny. You are awesome and Santa will be good to you as he should be. Miss you.

Wait are there actually people who don't wish they lived on the other side of the planet from at least one family member?

I think these things could be said about anyone really, which means you are probably not all that naughty. It is a bummer though because hearing thoughts like these directed towards yourself can't feel good. I think your great, Deb.

Some of us love you just as you are!

Although I have been told my gift is enabling!

Uh oh.

I think I'm in trouble. Big trouble.

Your list looked all too familiar. :)

guests in YOUR home said these things to you? I would have shown them the door! Politely though!
