PJs and Cheese

So tonight we are wearing our pajamas inside out and backwards. Furthermore, we are placing sliced cheese under our pillows. The end result of our unabashedly pagan rituals had better be snow. And lots of it. Enough to elicit mass hysteria and cause confused fear and irrational caution among school district administrators.

My children are nearing their breaking points. I have gently reminded them that Christmas break was less than a month ago, and not only did they have a four day weekend last weekend, they are currently in the midst of yet another.

However, I have been informed that scheduled school closings pale in comparison to the unplanned ones. Apparently, I am confusing apples with oranges. After a few eye rolls, requests for yet more sleepovers, arguments about homework, and a quick sweep of the basement yielding ELEVEN empty cans of Mountain Dew, I stand corrected. I realize that going to school on Wednesday is completely out of the question for any self-respecting school hater.

I guess I had better go cut the tag out of my pajama top...it keeps rubbing against my chin.

PS: my pretty, new computer went the way of Homer Simpson this weekend, but I am back up and running. I did read everyone's weekend posts, but to get through all 87 of them in the most expeditious manner, I didn't comment. Forgive me, please!

Ok, we have PJs and we have cheese, so my three kids and I are joining this SNOW DAY pagan ritual! Bring it on.

We are under a snow storm warning, officially changed from a watch about 1 hour ago! I'm still a little jaded from the last couple of times this happened and it just rained, but I am remaining hopeful.

So I have been dancing outside buttass nekkid for no reason? I thought that brought snow. Man, do I feel stupid.

All is forgiven.
Make sure you DO cut that tag. It'll give you a chin burn just like I get on my thighs from Mikes beard. Exactly like it.

We haven't had a snow day since... never!

We have; however, had a couple of hurricane days. No fun there as it means dealing with horrific weather and power outages.

Hope you guys get the snow day! Enjoy!

oh my gosh, you all are in the wrong state! It's snowing here in Colorado! I'll switch my pj's back to their "correct" position and grab the cheese from under the pillows.... hopefully that will send the snow on over to those who would like it!

I've tried it all and haven't had luck. Let me know if this works for you. Although the cheese does concern me a little.

I thought you were resting after all that blogging you did:) No snow expected here, but it is suppose to get SUPER DUPER cold tonight. I hate cold. We had two 2 hour delays a couple weeks ago because it was SO cold. I kid you not. I actually got to go back to sleep. It was nice.

Won't the cheese get icky underneath your pillow? What if you reach under their in the middle of the night and not know what it is? EWWWWWWWW... Just saying.

ONLY 87? I'm to embarrassed to tell you my count.

My girls do the inside out and backwards pj's. (but what's up with the cheese?) The girls said to tell you to make sure to do the Macarena and put a spoon under the pillow. (with the cheese?)

Oh, and did you know the cheese is really bothering me? Is the cheese wrapped?

Hope your kids and mine get at least one snow day this year...

Deb,

On Dec.14th the teachers told our kids to wear PJ's inside out, and a spoon under the pillow. The result was 15 days of snow , freezing rain and many a day of school missed. I am thinking the cheese could result in smelly snow or at least dirty sheets and pillows. Good luck.

The first thing that came to mind was...I hope the cheese is wrapped. Good luck. :-)

well yeah, scheduled school closing are nothing, its the unscheduled ones that rock. I can't believe you didn't know that. I did and I don't even have kids in school. ;)

I have never heard of the backwards PJ's, cheese or spoon....guess Im way out of the loop.

Uh, oh! You're forgetting to put spoons under the pillow.

Here in Upstate NY we get lots of snow days, must be all the spoons under pillows!

Ok, so when I read this.. I totally got up and turned my nightgown inside out. (yeah, I'm wearing a night gown... don't you judge me!!)

And we currently have a mouse in our house(Sneaky Bastard, I call him) so there will be no cheese under my pillow!)

I want some snow, dang it!! We under a snow warning too.. those weather jerks better be right this time, or someone is gettin' a beatin'!

This sounds like a lot of fun, and hopefully something your kids will remember once they're all grown up. *crossing my fingers for a snow day*

I'm wearing my pjs backwards and sleeping with cheese under my pillow because I've lost my mind!
